Marden Parish Council are organising a litter pick of the village, surrounding roads and lanes on Saturday 21st March. We have been asked as a Group if we would help with litter picking within the village, ie on pavements around the village centre.

We will assemble at the John Banks Hall (within the Memorial Hall, next to the primary school) at 9.30am and go off in small groups from there. Refreshments will be provided back at the John Banks Hall before we go home at approximately 11.30am. Gloves, high-visibility vests and sacks will be provided. Top half of uniform with scarves should be worn.

We are anticipating a great response from Group members and we need to provide at least one adult with each group of children so we are asking for some parent or guardian volunteers to help supervise each of the “working groups” on the day, please indicate if you are willing to help by informing your section leader ASAP (before Friday 20th!) so that numbers of helpers can be collated.  Parents or Grandparents, all welcome!

Volunteering within your community does tick off some badge requirements across all sections but more importantly this is a great opportunity for the Scout Group and its members to show that we care for the village and community we live in.
