Marden Scarecrow Safari By mardenscouts on 7th October 2023 (updated 8th October 2023) In Beavers, Cubs, Featured, News, Scouts / Tags: Jungle Book, Scarecrow / 0 comments Marden Scout Group again entered the Marden Scarecrow (Disney) Safari this year and chose The Jungle Book as our theme. This is because, as well as being a much loved Disney classic, The Jungle Book has strong ties with Scouting and Cub Scouts in particular. Lord Baden Powell (the founder of Scouting) was close friends to Rudyard Kipling the writer of The Jungle Book and it became the theme of Cub Scouts which was originally called Wolf Cubs. Even today Cub Pack Leaders are named after Jungle Book characters and we follow Wolf Cub traditions!!! Thanks to all our awesome Beavers, Cubs and Scouts (and of course Leaders)!!
