Marden Scout Group – Coronavirus update By mardenscouts on 16th March 2020 (updated 16th March 2020) In Beavers, Cubs, Featured, News, Scouts / 0 comments 12th March 2020 You will all be aware that the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation continues to develop around the world. Today, the Government changed the response phase to ‘delay’ and issued further advice. You will I am sure have questions about how Coronavirus (COVID-19) will affect how we operate Scouts here in the Marden. The Scouts Association will continue to respond to the developing situation in a calm, measured and appropriate way, and we will follow, and react to, the current Government Health Advice as it evolves. The safety of everyone involved in Marden Scouts is our number one priority and will be at the heart of our decision making. For example, if a local school has closed due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) risk, it may be appropriate to stop meetings, activities and events. As of this moment in time, we have no cause to cancel any meetings, but if the situation, or advice, changes we will of course let you know. Just like everyone else, our Scouts and Leaders should follow the standard advice on self-isolation if necessary, which was updated today www.gov.uk/coronavirus. In addition please can I ask that: • If your child, or indeed any member of your household, shows any symptoms or has been advised to self-isolate that they do not come to any Scout meetings or events until such time as they are no longer considered infectious • You ensure that your child washes their hands thoroughly with soap and water before leaving home for Scout meetings and again upon returning home. I would like to thank you all for your continued support and understanding; by following the latest Government advice we can continue to ensure that our young people and adults stay safe.
